About

GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® enhance structural fitness, range of motion, coordination, and strength – while building connection between mind and body. Developed by Julio Horvath, a former dancer from Romania, these unique exercise methods offer similar benefits to Yoga, Tai Chi, gymnastics, dance, swimming and physical therapy. They aim to balance and energize the body by releasing excessive tension, correcting dysfunctional patterns of the muscular/skeletal structures and promoting circulation. GYROTONIC® exercises use various machines, while GYROKINESIS® exercises are performed on chairs and mats. Assisted by corresponding breathing patterns, both methods work joints and muscles gently and systematically through rhythmic, undulating movements that stimulate the nervous system and internal organs.
GINGER GILLILAND (instructor):
Over the last 10 years of teaching GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®, my interest has become focused on understanding pain, corrective joint movement, pelvic floor health and Scoliosis. My style is a slower, more methodical approach with special attention paid to postural alignment and technique, allowing the body to build and strengthen without injury.
